These six spiritual theories explain the mess we’re in from higher perspective.

Our planet is under threat.
Species are dying out at a heart-breaking rates of 1000s of times higher than the usual background rate per day.
The precious + biodiverse Amazon rainforest burns due to corruption + greed.
The IPCC report gravely warns that we only have 10 years left to act.
Science has proven that the meat + dairy industries have the biggest impact on Earth.
Yet humankind’s consumerism + consumption habits are barely impacted by these voices.
As we stand on the brink of our own extinction, we are faced with a collective choice.
Do we live through drought, natural disaster, mass extermination of the animal + plant kingdoms, decimation of the oceans, pollution of air and water, melting icecaps, extreme weather conditions, mass immigration on a politically unstable, overpopulated planet?
…Or do we poise to go through a worldwide spiritual transformation?

You may have felt the call towards spiritual activism since birth. You may even identify as indigo, starseed, light worker or empath.
In your heart you know that sending “Love + light” or “#Prayingfor…XXX” platitudes are no longer enough.
You want to be part of the solution, not the problem.
There is going to be a major global shift in consciousness over a very short timespan.
As 16 year old activist Greta Thunberg says: “The politics needed to meet the Paris agreement does not exist anywhere today. Not one single political party to my knowledge is even close to approaching the solutions required for the IPCC 1,5. But that is about to change.”

If you are struggling to imagine what a spiritual revolution may be like, you may relate to some of the spiritual revolution theories below.
They attempt to explain mankind’s current global challenges from a higher, more spiritual perspective.

6 popular spiritual revolution theories!

1. Eco-Psychology – earth is an organism
Ecopyschology grew out of a dialogue that began between environmentalists and psychologists in the last few decades.
According to ecopsychology theory, our whole planet is a self-regulating and complex living organism.
For it to stay healthy, our planet must maintain a natural balance throughout it’s inter-connected and interdependent eco-system.
Humans are only a small part of this giant, living organism.
Planet Gaia self-regulates – through ice-ages, changes in plants or extreme weather, for example – as well as through it’s adjustments to unique ‘consciousness’ (i.e. a method of life having awareness of it’s true nature).
For example, the Amazon’s tallest tree just got 50% taller for no explainable scientific reason.
The earth has an interconnected consciousness – a life force – and this is divine intelligence is manifested into physical form and expressed through every living thing.
It includes human ideas, behaviour, accomplishments and where our species’ energy is directed – i.e. towards love or hatred. The planet’s consciousness therefore changes organically, from the ground up.
The global human population of billions is one of the fastest conduits for changing inter-planetary consciousness.
Though we live against a backdrop of bloody and pointless wars, and our potential to destroy the planet many times, mankind’s interest in personal growth and consciousness expansion is exploding.
Particularly since the birth of pychotherapy over 100 years ago, mind-body disciplines, biological/body based practices, energy medicine (EFT, AIT, TAT, EMDR) and complementary healing techniques (shiatsu, kinesiology, etc) have proliferated.
For examples, see this list of health, fitness and alternative therapies currently insurable in the UK.
There’s a thirst for ancient wisdom and a new age perspective that is relevant to the natural world crisis we face.
Furthermore, there’s a renewed respect for ancient traditions (e.g. shamanism, yoga, meditation, naturopathy) and ancient whole medical systems (Indian Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, herbalism) among many.
The ‘spooky voodoo fear’ has been taken out of practices that were once viewed as a bit fringe. Complementary medicine has put the power to heal back in our own hands.
In response to the threat, the earth has brought forth the tools, education + self-understanding to save our selves. The question is, can enough people wake up in time to save the planet?
If someone like the highly sensitive Russell Brand can do a 360 degree turnaround in a few short years, then there is hope for the rest of us.
In summary, Ecopsychology is the relationship between mankind and the earth. It’s hypothesises is that when we as a species separates ourselves from nature, we run into trouble. If and when we exist in harmony with the natural world, things will run smoothly.
According to Ecopsychology, the current crisis is a clarion call to honour the earth and develop a healthier consciousness that serves ALL living things. If we do not change our un-consciousness enough to prevent extinction, then the earth itself will find a way to rebalance (catastrophe, disease, temperature, etc) and subtract the harmful element (mankind) from it’s own existence.

2. Light Beings and Light Workers
Some spiritual teachers believe that many souls born since 1970s will see the world so radically differently, they will have the strength of vision to push through major change.
These people embody new consciousness in human form. Perhaps people like Greta Thunberg, the gifted Aspie with a powerful message?
The energetic changes these beings will usher in will cause major disruption, destruction and instability.
Indigo, Starseed, Crystal and Rainbow are the names given to new generations of children who are demanding much-needed global change. These children and adults, born since the 1970s, are highly sensitive and usually psychic.
According to Doreen Virtue, who wrote extensively about them before converting to Christianity (and denouncing the New Age as demonic) they have an important mission to help mankind with mammoth tasks ahead.
The gist of the Indigo, Starseed, Crystal and Rainbow theories are:

- Indigos have a warrior spirit, because their collective purpose is to mash down old systems that no longer serve the planet. They have arrived to quash outdated governmental, educational, corporate, financial and legal systems. Anything that lacks integrity and fairness. To accomplish this end, they have fiery tempers and determination. They hate lies and can see through untruths easily [Source: Doreen Virtue]. Indigos also detest manipulation, dominance, repression and exploitation. The most excellent definition of an Indigo Adult is by Dr. Phil Mollon PhD, read here. His description of Indigos is the most comprehensive and coherent explanation of Indigos I’ve found.

- Doreen Virtue writes how, by contrast, second-wave children Starseed and Crystal children are calm, joyful and even-tempered. Crystal children are unguarded and unpretentious, forgiving and easy-going. The Crystal generation benefit from the all the Indigos’ trailblazing. The Crystal generation walk the cleared path, stepping into a safer and more secure world.

- Finally the third-wave, fearless Rainbow Children will ultimately populate the earth. Rainbow Children will be pure givers who are born ready to fulfil the planet’s need for healing and co-operation.
One of the earliest pioneers of this theory of ‘Three Waves of Volunteers‘ sent to earth from other galaxies to help with earth’s ascension was Dolores Cannon.
Dolores was a master teacher, hypnotist, healer and metaphysical pioneer. You can hear her explain her Three Waves theory on YouTube:
If you are an activist, teacher, nurse, therapist, healer, coach, helper, carer, conscious entrepreneur or holistic practitioner, you may resonate with the idea that you are a volunteer in a revolution.
In summary, if you have been born since the 1960s and 1970s and feel a strong pull towards spirituality, and a desire to help, you may resonate with this theory:
You have come to earth at this pivotal time to serve and usher in a more positive and peaceful age.

3. Earth Chakras + Portals: 2012 and 2032
In her book 2012 and Beyond author Diana Cooper writes about the end of a 26,000 year astronomical period and beginning of a new intergalactic era.
According to Diana’s channelled information, the Earth Star chakra opened in London in 2012. It was symbolised by the Olympic Games’ message of unity and coming together, as embodied in the opening ceremony.
She explains how the Stellar Gateway opened in the Arctic, pouring in Source light and accelerating the ascension of human beings across the planet.
Diana states that planet earth has 12 spiritual chakras, which are opening to aid the planet’s evolution into higher realms.
Here’s a map of the earth’s chakras according to Diana Cooper:
- Earthstar: London
- Base: Gobi Desert, China
- Sacral: Honolulu, Hawaii
- Navel: Fiji
- Solar Plexus: South Africa
- Heart: Glastonbury UK
Cosmic heart: Guatamala - Throat: Luxor, Egypt
- Third Eye: Afghanistan
- Crown: Machu Picchu, Peru
- Causel: Tibet
- Soul Star: Agra, India
- Stellar Gateway: Arctic
The lower chakras are concerned with safety, security, feelings, creativity, ego, etc. The higher chakras are concerned with love, communication, truth and one-ness.
The earth has already grown through the opening and development of its lower chakras:
• Base chakra: security, survival + shelter (i.e. security, survival + shelter).
• Sacral chakra: Creation, pleasure + movement (i.e. art, culture + travel).
• Solar Plexus chakra: Power, responsibility + action (i.e. democracy, citizenship + economic development).
The heart chakra embodies love, beauty and compassion.
In summary, Diana believes that by 2032 many of our common attitudes to the planet and each other will have completely changed. Some of the coming innovations may include: more respect for nature, better treatment of animals, the coming together of 5th Dimensional communities and more co-operation between nations.

4. Age of Pisces ends, Age of Aquarius begins
Astrologically we are at the end of the 2,160 year old Piscean Age.
Accordingly to some forms of astrology, we entered the Age of Aquarius in 2012. Aquarius is the house of the woman.
This means there is an energetic shift underway:
• from masculine / yang energy – fast, productive, action-oriented, thought.
• to feminine / yin energy – slower, flowing, receptive, intuitive.
This is evidenced in the re-interest in the divine feminine, goddess worship, feminism (with a small ‘f’) + grassroots women’s circles, such as Red Tent. As well as the wildfire of #MeToo.
Astrologers such Vera Reid, author of Towards Aquarius (1970), wrote about how the new Aquarius age heralds mankind’s enlightenment: a revelation of truth and the expansion of consciousness.
Philosopher and educator Rudolph Steiner believed that in the Age of Pisces people developed their individuality. Whereas, in the new Age of Aquarius, people will develop a spiritual brotherhood while retaining their own identity.
Roy Grasse promotes the theory that the new age will come in waves, amidst extraordinary technological or humanitarian breakthroughs, despite corporate greed and environmental challenges.
Terry MacKinnell is a Vedic-western fusion astrologer believes the Aquarian Age will be good for improving the lives of women. Each sign in astrology can be divided into three stages. He explains the first stage of the Aquarian age is Libra (from 1433 to 2148). Libra and Cancer are the two signs most strongly associated with women. Cancer veers more to the mother figure while Libra to the lover, wife or partner but this delineation is not carved in stone.
In summary, the planet Venus, the Goddess of Love, rules the sign Libra. So expect an upswing in Goddess empowerment and Gaia consciousness, as the everyday sexism experiences of women seeps into everyday awareness. As well as equal pay, equal rights and a higher status conferred to crucial, yet undervalued, roles such as child care and motherhood.
In summary, the masculine energies of empire building, colonisation, intellectualism, challenge, domination and expansion will give way to the feminine energies of nurturing, care-taking, intuition, healing, flow and receptivity.
This rebalancing will bring positive benefits for both sexes, including a loosening of gender roles + stereotypes, more acceptance of non-binary sexuality and a neutralising of toxic masculinity + femininity.

5. A Return to ‘the Old Ways’
The industrial revolution (1760-1840) stripped ordinary European people of their connection to the land. The men were separated at childhood and pushed through a system (school) in preparation for life in a factory, mill or mine.
Meanwhile, after years of persecution by the Church, the remaining caretakers of ancient natural wisdom (usually women) were diminished, silenced, demeaned and demonised by the growing medical establishment and academia.
Next, the technological brave new world of the 1960s failed to meet the most primal human spiritual needs for connection, community and spirituality. Anxiety, loneliness and depression are at all time highs amongst people living in urban centres.
In response, many people have found deeper meaning by returning to ‘the old ways’. This means honouring nature’s cycles, community building, sustainability, alternative lifestyles (minimalism, zero-waste, etc) and earth-based spiritualities.
One example is the trend in developed countries of ‘going back to food roots’. Ethical consumerism, organic farming and grow-your-own has become fashionable, and even big business.
In response to industrialised production methods, GMO and the destruction of wildlife habitats, there’s a growing appetite for organic food, sustainably-grown products and vegetarianism.
Figures indicate that sales of organic food and non-food products in the United States broke through another record in 2014, totalling $39.1 billion (Source: Organic Trade Association). In the UK, 12% of UK adults followed a vegetarian or vegan diet, rising to 20% of 16 to 24 year olds in 2015 (Source: Mintel).
Though you may think that a Paleo (meat-based) diet is the true diet of Neanderthal man, recent science suggests that ancient man only ate meat as a rare treat. *
As awareness of the environmental impact and animal cruelty involved in the meat and dairy industries grows (due to YouTube, social media, etc), millions are waking up to plant-based food.
See my guide: Good Vibes – 5 Steps to Plant-Based for more.
[ * According to research, the diets of nearly all monkeys and apes, except the leaf-eaters, are composed of fruits, nuts, leaves, insects, and sometimes the odd snack of a bird or a lizard… Most primates have the capacity for eating sugary fruit, the capacity for eating leaves and the capacity for eating meat. But meat is a rare treat, if eaten at all. Ref: Scientific American.]

6. Ascended Masters and Angels on the Earth Plane
A final popular channelled spiritual theory is that now, more than ever in earth’s history, high vibrational beings, such as Angels and Ascended Masters, are working on the earth plane to help mankind create a more peaceful and fair planet.
These are more advanced than the light beings and light workers mentioned above. Many of these Masters are in plain sight; perhaps appearing humble, unassuming or leading mundane lives, i.e. not arriving with a big fanfare.
Some high vibrational being may exist beyond our perception or take the form of phenomena we cannot explain.
If they do walk among us, they will be ‘spiritual’ with a small ‘s’ and they won’t wear their spirituality on their sleeve. You will just as likely find them working in a youth offending prison or difficult HR position in a corporate company, as holding a chakra workshop down at your local yoga centre.
In summary, these high vibrational beings have come from other dimensions to help earth during this troubled time. Their job is to help guide people to realise their connection to their life purpose, to clear karmic issues and become beacons of light, hope and inspiration to others. Could that be you?
