Relationship cord cutting meditation is for helping you release emotional baggage and strong ties to the past.
This relationship cord cutting meditation should be done in conjunction with reflection and other self help work, so you can heal, grow and progress.
Relationship Cord Cutting – what is it?
Strong emotions between two people create relationship cords. Energetic bonds created in this way can be positive or negative.
The feedback you get from your relationship cords might make you feel uplifted, depleted or even blocked.
Relationship cords can exist even if you are no longer physically or geographically close to a person. A person may be still on your mind or in your heart.
Perhaps you feel someone still has a hold over you. Or you have a difficulty letting go of a past relationship fully. (See Heal A Broken Heart How To).
Why? Unconsciously you are still connected through a relationship cord or cords on a hidden level. Cord-cutting experts believe such cords continue lifetime to lifetime. That’s right, even after physical death.
Relationship cords can be particularly unhelpful when there has been a power imbalance in the relationship: master/slave, unrequited love or abuse (psychological or otherwise).
For example, if you have had a bad experience with a previous boss, the energetic exchange that still exists between you may sublety deplete your confidence in a new job.
Or, if you have ever felt very strongly towards an ex-lover, that relationship cord may block a new love relationship entering your life.
Cords are always formed by mutual agreement. Unless such cord are dissolved a part of you may be stuck in that role or experience.
Cord may be attached to different parts of the body, or different chakras. For instance, there could be a cord between base chakras of two people who are sexually attracted to each other despite other aspects of the relationship being very unhealthy.
This is one example of when a relationship cord cutting meditation can be really useful to do.
Relationship Cord Cutting for lovers
Even in very positive and supportive relationships, energetic cords can be affected by unhelpful thoughts or expectations on either side.
Experts in relationship cord cutting recommend that a fairly regular a cord cutting meditation is healthy for your relationship as it will actually help it blossom.
Healthier cords can be regrown in ways that are for the highest and best good of both partners.
Relationship cord cutting for families
Likewise with family relationships. Some may be healthy, others may have baggage. Sometimes what you think is ‘love’ can actually be enmeshment, co-dependence or need. The energy between two relatives grows over many years and can get out of balance.
For example, one person can feel responsible for the other or give a lot while the other person always receives. Perhaps there has been disappointment, misunderstanding, blame, hurt or anger.
These emotions cloud your vision of yourself and the other person. Relationship cords accompany strong feelings of loyalty to family members.
Unhealthy relationship cords can mean a tendency to be stuck in the past or feeling that you owe them.
Relationship cord cutting is necessary when you feel disempowering guilt about making your own way in the world.
Relationship Cord Cutting – how + why
Contrary to what you might think, cord cutting is not a violent act that pushes the other person away or out of your life.
A cord cutting meditation is done with love, compassion and forgiveness for you and the other person.
It allows the potential for a more healthy relationship cord(s) to establish.
Any unconditional love remains and a new relationship cord will form if is for the highest good of both people.
What are the effects of a relationship cord cutting meditation?
Your imagination is powerful tool and relationship cord cutting is powerful work. When you do relationship cord cutting meditation the energy changes: for you, the other and within the relationship.
What surprises me is how, when I do this exercise with healing clients, the client will often hear from the person they are cutting cords from completely out of the blue.
Sometimes this can be even if they have not spoken for years, or the other person is on the other side of the world.
Somehow the other person involved in the cord cutting meditation senses the energy of their old friend, relative or ex-lover changing.
Even if the connection was painful, this can be an opportunity for closure, or to see how far you have come.
Nevertheless, a relationship cording cutting meditation should only be undertaken if you feel comfortable and ready.
Relationship cord cutting meditation – free!
You can access my free relationship cord cutting meditation below. When you listen to it, you will be using your intuition (inner tuition) to get a sense of the relationship cords that bind you.
These ties or cords may appear as light, particles, chains, ropes, umbilical cords, pipes, string, hooks, cobwebs, goo or slime… Perhaps a totally unexpected image comes up from your unconscious.
Relationship cords often form in the third chakra. Mother-child relationship cords start with heart chakra and then go on to form in all the other chakras (Ref: Barbara Brennan, Light Emerging).
Cords to males tend to be on the right side of your chakra or body, relationship cords to females on the left. However, it is important to trust your inner eye.
Whatever you see will be correct for you as your inner sight comes direct from your unconscious, or higher self (depending on which belief system you ascribe to).
The best time to do this relationship cord cutting meditation is first thing in the morning or last thing at night. I suggest doing it in a place where you feel most relaxed. For me that’s usually bed!
You can sit up or lie down under blankets. Either way just make sure you are warm, comfortable and properly hydrated.
Drink enough water for the few hours before. No caffeine or alcohol should be in your system.
Before you begin this relationship cord cutting meditation note any emotions you feel about the person you want to cut cords with.
Make sure you finish the meditation by filling up any and all gaps or spaces left by the removed cords with white light from creator. Visualise going up to Source energy, the highest point in the universe, and pouring white light down and into your energy field, until it is completely full.
Once you are familiar with this exercise you can shorten it and do regularly top-ups to keep your energy clear.
This relationship cord cutting meditation takes just over 10 minutes. The whole audio lasts 30 minutes so you can always continue your meditation and relaxation after my narration finishes.
